Our StaffOur Most Important Asset Our dedicated experienced staff provides a safe, warm and caring home away from home environment. A fulltime director, and an assistant director with over 20 years of early childhood teaching and directing experience between them ( over 15 of those years at our school) lead an overwhelmingly (90%) fulltime staff consisting of a separate degreed teacher and/or a senior experienced educator as the head of every classroom’s staff. All staff—directors, head and assistant teachers and part-timers are offered and must attend ongoing informal and formal training throughout the year. We meet and exceed State and Goddard standards for both the numbers and training of our teachers and assistant teachers. As the first of the Goddard Schools to be accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (a division of NAEYC) our programs and facilities are designed to meet NAEYC standards as well. As a Goddard School and a family business, an owner is here fulltime, taking primary responsibility for the physical and financial aspects of the school, sharing the record keeping with the directors, providing an additional assurance of quality and is available to the parents and staff. Our CurriculumAge Appropriate, Founded on Years of Experience But Always Improving; Nationally Recognized Consultants and the Goddard Press The Goddard School curriculum and programs for all age groups, infant through pre- K --repeatedly addresses both the basics (e.g. shapes, colors, numbers, the alphabet) and social and science/problem solving skills. Ever changing weekly and monthly themes keep the material fresh and interesting for the children, staff, and parents. The children have fun while developing a love of learning to prepare them for success in the future. Our Goddard School curriculum is dynamic—constantly being improved upon from the combined experience of all the Goddard Schools (over 200 and growing), taking the best from all across the country from each of the States standards, and influenced by the many expert consultants, including those giving advice for all parents through their books on child raising (titles include: Right from Birth; Me Myself and I; Going To School; Winning Ways to Learn Ages 3, 4&5; Winning Ways to Learn Ages 6, 7&8). The Goddard Schools have a constantly growing and evolving set of curriculum resources – some examples are Language Arts, Fitness, Music, Nutrition, Spanish, Sign Language, Fine Arts, Yoga. Kindergarten We offer a full day academic Kindergarten program, with a curriculum that meets and exceeds those of the local school systems and the State. Class size is limited. Our Kindergarten teacher and her assistant teacher use their years of experience, the Goddard School curriculum resources, and several different specific Kindergarten curriculums. Our graduates are well prepared for their future education -- elementary school and beyond. |
